This Dangerous Liquid Cargo course meets the USCG requirements for Tank Ship Familiarization (Tankerman-Assistant), Tankerman-PIC (Ships), and Tankerman-PIC (Barge), Tankerman-Engineer and renewal of an expired Tankerman endorsement.

The class curriculum follows the IMO guidelines for Tanker Familiarization and the industry guidelines and recommendations found in the fifth edition of the International Guide to Oil Tankers and Terminals (ISGOTT).

This includes the hazards of petroleum cargoes, tanker development, static electricity precautions, cargo planning, cargo handling equipment, tank cleaning operations and the rules and regulations for tanker dangerous liquid cargo operations and pollution prevention.
