WWII Merchant Mariners

In order to protect the dwindling number of Northern Right Whales, the "Marine Mammal Protection Act" has mandated that the amazing "Eubalaena" be given wide berth by, among others, mariners.  As reported in the New York Times, March 17, 2009, the MMPA is working. The population of Northern Right Whales has increased. Volumes 1 & 4 of the US Coast Pilot, which provide the details of avoidance procedures, are available to license candidates during the examination.
